OK, it's USD$40 around USD$55
For this tiny amount, you can reserve the best flights to LAX or San Francisco return, flying with Fiji Airways on some of the newest aircraft across the Pacific & book some on snow accommodation, so no one else can grab the apartment or hotel room you want & also lock in the best lift tickets at USD$74/adult/day with 1 child free/paying adult.
So here's a itinerary that might work for you ...
A skiers or snowboarder itinerary to for 9 nights in Colorado, that won’t break the bank.
Get to LAX or SFO on one of our heavily reduced flights from Australia from $999 return, arriving by 4 January 2022.
Then either stay the night near one of the 5 major airports in LA or 3 major airports in San Francisco or fly onto Denver & stay at an airport hotel there.
There are plenty of paid flights including 2 checked bags from USD$57(AUD$75) to USD$69(AUDA$95) to Denver 4 & 5 January or use your Qantas frequent flyer points (from 12,000 points + $5) including a checked bag.
As January is always a quiet month for travel in the USA, there should be similar fares in weeks to come.
Head to Copper Mt on 5 January – it’s 90 mins on 4 to 8 lane major interstate highway (if we get enough takers, we’ll charter a 56 seater coach)
Check out the drive on you tube ...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5Sbnscdbr8
Ski or board 7 days, 6 to 14 January – have a day off, maybe on Saturday, or have 2 days off & ski check out day. (you can store luggage on check out day, at Athletic Club free & have a shower there after skiing/boarding)
No matter where you stay in Copper, all of the accommodation is within 200m flat walk of the lifts.
Head back to Denver. Again, we’ll charter a 56 seater coach, if we have enough takers, probably leaving around 5pm. (if you don’t want to ski on check out day, then maybe sleep in a bit & have a nice relaxing lunch in Copper or get the free regular county bus into Frisco, 6 miles away, or venture a little further to Breckenridge (free bus or Uber) or the www.outletsatsilverthorne.com
Then stay the night or 2 at Denver & fly back to west coast or anywhere else such as New York City (from 18,000 Qantas or Virgin points)
or
maybe fly to San Francisco & have a leisurely 3 to 4 day drive back to LA, before flying home.
So let’s look at total costs for 2 adults & 2 kids, based on AUD$999 airfare to LAX or SFO, buying cheapest airfares to Denver USD$57 each way from LA(remember you can save by using Qantas or Virgin or other frequent flyer points in USA), getting on our subsidised coaches both ways, staying in moderate size basic 3 star apartment, with full kitchen, 200m flat walk to 6 & 8 person ski lifts, from USD$172/night(+ enhanced cleaning per stay, not per night of USD$50+tax) , that can sleep up to 6 people, but only 4 people in this case & getting 7 out of 10 days lift tickets.
NOTE: plenty of other bigger & better accommodation available. We have access to over 800 apartments & hotel rooms.
At current exchange rate, subject to availability …
AUD$8999 for 2 adults & 2 kids
(deduct AUD$629 if using frequent flyer points to get from LA or San Fran (8 airports in total) to Denver).
Approximately ½ can be paid with any credit card, at no surcharge (unless your bank charges an international fee)
The rest can be paid, by any method. If paying by card a fee of up to 2.6% will apply.
NOT INCLUDING ANY ACCOMMODATION NEAR AN LA OR SAN FRAN, OR DENVER AIRPORTS, AS THERE ARE LITERALLY HUNDREDS OF OPTIONS.
How much do you need to pay now to secure on snow accommodation & lift tickets ?
Only USD$40 around AUD$55 only.
Another $100/person deposit, will be require approx end of October (even this date is flexible) & then the balance will be due 35 days before departure.
U.S. accommodation & lift tickets are always in USD$.
We also suggest you grab any frequent flyer tickets within the USA now. We understand these can be cancelled with penalty or cost, but confirm this with airline.
Qantas owns around 45% of Fiji Airways & all flights are codeshared with Qantas & some with American Airlines & Air NZ, so you can earn Qantas frequent flyer points on all flights, if you have joined the Qantas programme, which is free to join.
