Being the USA & Canada wholesale experts (we don't do Bali), we are asked about 20 times a day, when will airfares to USA & Canada drop. The answer is now.
Airlines are already drip feeding cheaper fares. The secret is to be a little bit date flexible & destination flexible.
Right now you can depart Australia 2 January to USA & if you want, stop over in Hawaii for any number of nights, returning 21 January for $1399 per adult & less for kids. There's a $99 fee per person. No credit cards fees !!!
$1399 in incredible for peak season flights to USA !!!!!!!!!!!!
& yes we still have some left at this low price.
Airlines are now realising that they won't sell all their seats due to massive increase in capacity. United airlines alone are increasing their nonstop flights from Brisbane to west coast USA from 3/week to 10/week.
If you are locked into school holidays, you might be able to use frequent flyer points for some of your flights from entry port in USA to your final destination in USA or Canada or Mexico or pay to fly on Southwest who has constant sales for January flights. Just looked at San Francisco to Hawaii & found many fares for USD$124 including 2 checked bags (one can be oversized such as skis) Southwest don't fly to Canada, but do fly to very close to the Canadian border. They are the largest & probably the best U.S. airline.
Ask, if you need help, email us fast as these fares will sell out, at least on above dates.
& put help in subject line
State where you'd like to fly from & to & dates & how flexible these dates can be.
For example, wanting to go to Canada ? Perhaps consider going via USA in one or both directions, as there are many more flights to places like Los Angeles & San Francisco than Vancouver. To fly from one of the 5 international airports in Los Angeles takes around 3 hours. From one of the 3 international airports in San Francisco takes around 2 hours.
There are also some very inexpensive flights from LA & San Fran, that fly to within 20 mins drive of border near Vancouver from around USD$59 to USD$99 including 2 checked bags of 23kgs each, one of which can be oversized such as skis or snowboards.
Other ways to save on airfares:-
1) Get separate international & USA domestic or USA to Canada flights.
Often you can use Qantas, Virgin or other frequent flyer points, starting from around 7,800 Virgin or 8,000 Qantas for flights within North America.
Or fly Southwest, the biggest airline in USA & probably the best. Today USA time, they load all their flights up to March 2024.
2) Fly into one city & out of another . If you final destination is Canada, Utah, Colorado or somewhere else in North America, you don't have to fly in & out of LAX. San Francisco often gets forgotten. Fares are often cheaper to SFO than LAX. Or fly into SFO & out of LAX.
3) fly internationally into or out of a different city in Australia. Every state has different school holidays, so a 1 stop strategy can sometimes save you thousands.
